Number of OS maps visited in sequence: 28
Number of “official” OS map miles cycled: 976
Number of “unofficial” (extra) miles cycled, not on maps 1-28, or in the wrong direction: 457
Total miles cycled in May and early June: 1,433
Number of days away from home: 39
Number of separate trains ridden: 14
Number of separate ferry / boat journeys: 23
So far I have done what I set out to do, so I can still say that I am “on track” in that sense. This part of the journey in northern Scotland was complicated, and the next part will be as well. More plans are progressing and I will be setting off from home again next week, picking up from map 28 in Elgin and then beyond into the 30s and 40s in the next 2 weeks. Watch this space…
